Could you help me to identify this species?? I bought it as Ap. Baenschi, but I'm not sure that it is right name :frown:

It is not baenschi.

Apistogramma sp. "Zwilling/Twin" is the name, and your photo shows a female. The fish in the background is something else though.

Females of A. sp. Twin/Zwilling & A. sp. Harlequin/Harlekin are very similar. Harlequin never shows a red caudal margin. The female in the pictures shows a hint of a red caudal margin. My guess is a female Twin.

Yes, there are slight differences in the cheek stripe as well as the size & shape of the lateral spot and caudal spot. The red margin is just easier to see.

I asked because my female of this species does not show any orange in the tail at all. But I wouldn't know if this is common or not, as this is the only female I have ever seen live.

Not all Zwilling females have red on the margins. The caudal spot on Zwilling is more round; on Harlequin it is more of a horizontal stripe
