Id help

Hi all,
Nice forum, I can see myself spending hours reading through all the great info that is on here.
But for now I’m in need of some help,
I am trying to ID these fish and was directed to this forum as the place to ask.
These guys were advertised as A.agassizii but I don’t think they are.

Sorry about the picture quality, a cheep camera and low light don’t mix.

The face markings are bright blue.

sounds like a search of steelblue might give a familar feeling

or if the doesn't work then just tye steelblue in the search box above and just right of centre

Thankyou for that. It certainly looks like a steel blue.
They say females are rare, so how do you tell the difference between males and females?

they are definitely different looking just very hard to find

Looks like a typical Blue Steel to me. :redface:

How many do you have? Are these pics all the same fish?

I’ve got a few fish to choose from but in the clear holding tank they all look the same. Their colour is washed out but by the looks of your pic the females have a lot less blue on their faces. Do they hold that yellow colour all the time?

I can get fish from Asia fairly easily, does anyone know of any wholesalers in that region that have a good selection of apistogrammas?
