Fat little gals. Try a pic when they are less stressed and settled in colors.

I have baby Hongsloi but mine are only 5/8" long. So I cant tell if yours are similar or not.

I had a look when I got home from work and they weren't looking as stressed so I will take some pics tomorrow when the lights come on.

Ok I got some more pics, as you can see they aren't as red as before. I only took pics of one of the females and it just happened to be the one that has a half black head as you can see in the reflection of the glass.

Here are some pics of the other female without half a black face. She has lost alot of the orange colour. I took the pics with my flash on cause she was hiding in the shade.

The lateral band is diagnostic for a hongsloi-complex fish, so they are one of the many forms/species of hongsloi-like fish. My bet is a domestic strain. These are usually a mix of forms. Very nice fish. The one with the black half face probably has nerve damage that prevents her from manipulating the melanophores on the face. Sometime this fixes itself, but usually does not. It won't affect her as a breeder (not a genetic problem nor contagious).
