How can you see that your co2 is to low?

Everyone,
I got different varieties of Echinodorus in my aquarium.
But now they are getting brown and loosing there leaves..
Is that because of my co2 value???
I`ve got a few books here but none of them are clear about this subject.
I hope someone can help me..

It could be any of several factors. Could you describe your setup so we could have a good picture of what you have in the tank, tank size, substrate, lighting, fertilization, Ph, Kh, and temp.

The Ph and Kh are what we use to determine the co2 concentration.

have you got a pleco in there? they love broad leafed plants. they will rasp on them, and will devistate swords esp.

Hello farm 41 thanx for your reply..
I`ve got 1 Big spot Peckoltia in my tank and 6 copples Apistogramma.
I also got a school Tetra`s in my tank.
My tank size is a volume of 230 liters,with peat plates on the bottom and on top of that i`ve got river sand.
I`ve got two lamps above my tank in the back i`ve got a Sylvania gro-lux
f38w gro-t8,and in the front i`ve got a Osram lumilux plus eco,warm white.
The only fertilization i use is little clay balls between the roots.
My ph is between 6.5 and 7.0
And my kh is always around 7.5 and 8.0 with a temerature of 28 dgrees celcius.

Are those readings from your tank water or tap water?

If from your tank the co2 levels are quite high and not likely unless you are injecting co2. The peat layer may invalidate the chart though.

There have been several discussions on the addition of peat and the effects and testing methods used after peat is added.
