Hey guys... just wanted to introduce myself. I am an avid hobbyist, and new found lover of apistos. I have just had my first pair of triple red cacs spawn, so figured I'd join up here and refine my knowledge on them.
I have several tanks running at the moment. First, I have a 40 breeder high tech planted tank running 4x39w T5HO, pressurized co2, and PPS Pro autodosers. I have a pair of triple red cacs, 4 kitty tetras, and 12 kerri tetras. I also have a 125 planted running 8x24w T5HO, no co2, no ferts, just miracle gro organic choice potting mix with a pool sand cap. I have several varieties of fish including 7 species of rainbows, several types of barbs and tetras, a couple clown loaches, and a pair of bristlenose. I am filtering with a fluval 305 and 405, as well as a rena xp3. I recently set up a 20 long nature aquarium, after falling in love with the Amano look. I have a 10g fry grow out tank running a sponge filter. I am working on setting my 150 back up to breed apistos, as they are in high demand around here from what I've seen.
This is my first attempt with south americans. I've kept africans in the past, but this is a whole new ball game.
