Hi got this pair a month ago... It just spawn..
1st time keeping apistogramma fry... Would appreciate if anyone can guide me along...
Currently fry stick to mom.
Both parent chasing away tank mates (sae/pencil fish/ galaxy rasbora/ Amano shrimps)

I have remove the chocolate gourami as it seem as the most threatening haha.

Anyways I do not have any food prepared for the fry...
The mom seem to be crushing shrimp pellets making them like powdery form for the fry...

Planning to get some micro worm too.

Anyway this is my 1st post here, I m from Asia.
Just saying hi to everyone !

Your fry will grow much better and more survive on a diet of live foods. I use newly hatch brine shrimp. Fry orient to movement. Microworms are a good source of protein and fat, but lack sufficient calcium for growing bones. Good luck and enjoy your fish!

Welcome to the forum! Exciting that your fish have spawned! Live food always seemed like a lot of hassle to me but Mike is right! Your fry will do much, much better on baby brine shrimp - and it's not as much hassle as you'd think.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
