These arrived at the local fish store with no identification. I'm wondering if any of you guys can ID them.
Seems to be all males to me.
My guess was mendezi, but maybe paucisquamis? something else? What do you think?
location unknown but certainly Brazilian

Nope, look at the marking at the caudal fin. Also too silvery for C. pygmaeus. Pygmies also have a lateral stripe.

the photo exaggerates a bit the silvery because I edited a bit to make the markings on the apistos more clear! but yeas, it is hastatus

I want to get a 55 gallon slightly planted tank with many caves and I am thinking of getting 2 electric blue acaras, 3 blue rams, a apistogramma, 3 angelfish, and some corrydoras. Will that work if I keep the temperature at about and 80 or less?
I have kept fish for quite a long time but never cichlids. I want to find out more about them.

Hi Fred, do you have any apistos for sale? I'm looking for Apistogramma trifasciata. I'm about an hour and a half from Mtl.
