A. hongsloi - especially domestic specimens - tend to be quite hardy. Most macmasteri-group species tend to be sensitive to large water changes with alkaline water. They develop cloudy skin with lesions in bad cases. It is best to acclimate them slowly in moderately soft and slightly acid water.
