Hi,
I'm having a mysterious fry die off in one of my tanks. No ammonia, no nitrite, nitrates 5-10. Do 25% w/c ever night, vaccuum tank floor, haven't changed my mix of RO/tap... BUT, I did clean my sponge last week... I squeezed it out and swished it around in my discard water. Could I have unleashed some other bacteria - not the good kind in my water column? (There has not been any reading of ammonia/nitrites since I cleaned the sponge.)
There haven't been any symptoms I can see, they seem to just get weak, can't swim, do this downward spiral and are dead within 24 hours. I have some larger and some smaller fry as they grow out, and it is happening to both sizes.
I've bumped up my water changes to 2 times/day now but if there are any other ideas/suggestions I'd sure appreciate it!
Cathy
