These hybrids don't count as dwarf cichlids, even though they are often offered as such. Just as a heads up.

Funny how you admit they’re commonly offered as dwarf cichlids, then act like I invented the term. That’s simply the name most people in the hobby recognize them by. Nothing misleading about the post.

Not my intention, we have many people here from Europe where they are not offered often, in Germany you don't see them at all, just as with regular parrot cichlids. I find the fact they are offered as dwarf cichlids generally misleading and factually incorrect. Not your fault, but a problem that needs to be addressed in my opinion.

As we are both members of this forum and UKAPS, and to save you some time, this is really a forum for keepers of W. African and S. American dwarf cichlid species. You won't find (m)any members who have an interest in hybrids or hard water C. American cichlids.

Also the majority of members are from the USA or Europe, rather than the UK.

cheers Darrel

There is no official name. Artificial hybrids don't get clear taxonomical naming. They are technically intellectual property of the original Frankenst... eerrr, breeder, and so there is no official naming convention, only tradenames.
In case of parrot cichlids it's still not even clear what the original species were or if they are really hybrids or a mutation.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
