Female Ram ready to mate?

I have 2 pairs of Rams. 1 pair Blue and 1 pair Gold. The female blue has darkened considerably to where her head is almost black. And while everything I read is they are non aggressive, she is taking on everything in the tank including a cacatuoide 3-4 times her size. The gold male ram seems to be interested, as he keeps swimming up next to her and keaning sideways, but she chases him all over the tank pecking at him as well. Just curious as I had the Male Blue ram since last week, and just dropped her in yesterday. Al 4 Rams did come from the same place housed together before I bought them

Ok I think my Rams are gonna have a 3 some. The female seems to be friendly with both the blue and gold males. And the 2 males seem to also being civil now that the lights are off. I am so confused right now as to whats going on

With my blue ram pair it is the male that chases her till a few days before they spawn. When she is close to spawning she will chase him around. I have some younger ones in a 65g tank and the female seem to flirt with a two of the males, but she has only spawned with one of them (he is a bit bigger so I can tell them apart)

Sounds like you may have eggs soon....I would think the female will only spawn with one, but you never know. Let us know how it goes and good luck!

Yeah, the gold female wants the gold male as I was watching them go nose to nose and rub each other, but when the blue female swims by it takes the gold males attention away from gold female. Ive got a bunhc of horny fish. My double red cacatuoide was yellow and laying on her side following the triple red male around last night.
