Eggs fertile-then BBS hatching?

Third time is the charm, I hope.:) First two spawns dad ate most of the fry. This morning I checked for eggs, found them, they are fertile. I pulled dad this time. Mom is a really good Mom.

How long a incubation period before they hatch? Temp is 78. I'd say there are probably 15-20 eggs

How long after they become free swimmers should I start hatching BBS? And feed how many times a day? Do you only hatch enough to feed daily or can I hatch more and keep them in the hatchery for a couple of days? Or can you freeze the leftover bbs?

Thanks.

If thy are your apisto C, they will follow angels closely. More like 8 days to free swimmers. Congrats on the spawn! If you have microworms you can use them for the first day or so till you get the bbs going. I harvest my bbs and keep them in the fridge for up to 48 hours so it gives me time to start a new one up.

Good luck with the fry.

regular 5-6 times daily feeding of small volumes is best targeted at the free swimming herd
i tend to just use the bbs straight out of hatcery as i need them , obviously with work and other things i dont get t feed as often as i would like
2 someties 3 times a day
