Egg laying

So I believe I have 2 juvenile females approximately 4-5 months old (no males in the tank) they each have their own hides that they go to. However, the smaller one has laid eggs twice now, in the others cave. She has been ushered in there by the larger and then kicked out. The larger then protects the cave and eggs. I'm extremely confused. Why aren't they both laying eggs in their own caves and why isn't the larger one laying her own eggs at all?

Photo of them both and the single photo is the larger of the 2.

Also note, these were sold to me as a male/female pair.

I think we will never truly know why. But it is known that dominant females take over the fry swarms of other females because the bigger the group of fry the likelier some will make it.
I assume a connection to that kind of behaviour.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
