do female cockatoo's stay yellow?

One of my females laid eggs about 2-3 days ago. well last night the eggs were gone and today she was still guarding the cave like she had young ones. I am not sure if they hatched or if she ate them so I was wondering if she did eat them yesterday will she stay yellow and guard the cave like they were still there? I can't move the rock to see if they hatched because the gravel they might be hiding in will fall on them.. any help?

My aggies and elizas both did that and they ate the eggs. They actually stayed yellow until right before the next spawn. Both females guarded the cave for about 6 days. It was almost like they lost the fry (even though they ate them), and were hoping the fry would come back.

What temp are they at? The higher the water temp the faster the eggs hatch. 2-3 days is very possible they hatched. I would give it about 10 more days, if they hatched you should start to see free swimmers in about 5-7 days.

I keep them at about 80F. Is that considered warm?

79-80 is considered the optimum temp, I would just give her a few days and see how things go
