I got R/O right and ph stabalizer. I mix the R/O with distilled water then ad stabalizer as needed. I was wonder instead of buying distilled water or R/O water, if I could boil my tap to distill it?

thanks

No. Boiling water doesn't make it distilled.
The pure (distilled) water is from the steam which is then converted back to water in a separate container. In the original container, the boiled water would have a higher concentration of impurities because an amount of pure water has been removed in the form of steam.

Boiling though will reduce the carbonate hardness, limescale that forms on the heating element as solids is removed from the water

I think distilling is quite an energy hungry process

An RO unit is best, and cheapest in the long run. Doesn't take long to pay for one, if you are buying water in town, or distilling it.

as a side note, distillation does not remove all impurities in the water, for example, chloramine tends to 'jump' and carry over in the distillation process. TFC membrane R/O system is the best way to go.
