If there were no symptoms and the fish simply drop dead, we will not find out unless a lab analysis is done and that will most likely also be inconclusive.

Dwarf cichlids in general tend to be fatally susceptible to stress. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case here.

Yea i had several die and could never figure out why (conflict, stress, ...) but now several months later the ones that are alive are still alive.

Not very helpful but i will say the one that was picked on the most is still alive as well as the most dominant one.

Perhaps taking things in from the “wild” introduced something that killed your fish?
That and stress is my main suspects.

I am in the middle of completely starting over once again. New sand and all.
I plan on taking some water from my bimaculata tank, to kickstart it.
