Crenicichla turned half black

Anyone ever see a fish turn half black like this? It just happened and he is staying like this.

I have seen fish that have part of their bodies turn black. I remember reading on a forum, perhaps it was this one, that it is the result of a bacterial infection. Perhaps you could try Melafix or some other antbacterial medication.
