Hi all!
I'm going to add new tank on my tank shelf. It would be 120Litre tank, 100x50cm and 25cm high. Would be tank like that good for pair of C. regani or C. notophtalmus? I will put a lot of bogwood and oak leaves.
The the pair is compatible they can go in an even smaller tank. I have a pair of C. regani in a tank that is about 3/4 that size (36"x12"x12"). If the pair is not bonded, just make sure there is planty of places for them to hide until they are tolerant of each other.
Just a word of caution with the C. notophtalmus, the males are MUCH more aggressive the C. regani males are. I don't know if this holds true after a pair has "bonded", but I know I had a horrible time getting any weight on my female notophalmus as she lived in fear of the male. And this was after the pair had formed out of a group of fish. So if you end up with C. notophtalmus be sure to add twice as many hiding places as you wuld think you need
