Hi fellow apistogramma keepers,
I have been having the case where my female apistogramma triple red lays its eggs and then tries to entice the male to enter the cave to fertilize, but it always does not seem to happen and after about a day the female eats the eggs normally the eggs tend to be white in colour and are never of another colour and my male is always just slacking off in one corner of my tank, im sure that he is a fertile male as he bred once before and the pair had raised fries together and I was wondering what could be wrong?
Cave I use is a ceramic hand potted caved with one enterance
For their diet I give them frozen bloodworms and sometimes some dried foods
water parameters are okay and are at suitable softness, ph and everything seems to be okay
My tank is a 2ft tank dedicated to only apisto and the only fishes I have with them are some pencilfish as dithers
Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
