Are these bita's ?

they are wild from brazil and look like A214 to me I'm I right ?

Hi there,

There's not even a hint of the second lateral line on these fish, and given the intensity of colour in the primary lateral line that these fish are displaying, I would expect some trace of it (the second lateral line was always visible on my fish).

My first instinct is that this is an Apistogramma gibbiceps type of apisto, it's the intensity of the sub orbital stripe and yellow on the gill plates that lead me down this route. Any more pictures with additional markings visible???

I see what you mean but the cadual markings in the first pic and in person look more like mendezi or bita

they are still pretty young

Andrew is right, it's definitely A. gibbiceps.
It is very clear from the photos that if
you look at the horizontal line pattern on the body,
it can never be A. mendezi or A. bita...
