Simple. Put the 2 halves of the coconut in a freezer for 2 or 3 days. The let it "thaw" for a few hours. Then cut through sections of the meat, slide a thin blade knife between the meat & the shell and twist. The pieces will pop out. My younger son has 2 perfect coconut halves that he uses for making the sound of a galloping horse (shades of Montey Python and the Holy Grail - and no we couldn't find an African Swallow!:tongue. If you don't want the meat, you can just cut the coconut in half and set it in the sun to dry. The meat will dry & start to separate from the shell.
