i want a trio for my community 29 gallon tank. i plant to build some slate caves and are in the process of heavily planting it. i just cant find a nice appeal that i like yet. :tongue: so i want to get some of the orange ones and plan to breed them later any help is great :biggrin:

Make sure you add both females at the same time. Even then, if the male prefers one of the females over the other he will make the second females life miserable. My advice would be to get three females so that there is no "third wheel" and any aggresion is spread out between the two sub-ordinate females.

PS other advise is caves caves and more caves.

I`ve got 2 females in a 29 gallon. The females are relatively accepting of each other as long as neither is in the mood to spawn. The dominant female role switches, as each gets fry. I really don`t think there would be enough room in my tank for a third. there are lots of caves and leaves and other hiding spots but I don`t want my fish to remain hidden to avoid agression. It`s a combo that seems to be working out quite well for me with spawns every couple of weeks.
