I am setting up a new 55g planted tank with apisto's. New at this and wonder about CO2 systems more reliable than yeast and don't cost as much as the systems available ($200/$300). Any hints or tricks?
I use a 10lb co2 tank($65) and regulator($50) from the welding supply store, a needle valve($15) can't remember where, co2 diffuser made from 2" pvc pipe with a powerhead, and made a bubble counter. All have been in use for 2-3 years.
I have had two of these systems running, each system feeding 2 tanks apeice.
