To the Forum:

Synonymized by Dr. Thys van den Audenaerde with Chomidotilapia kingsleyae in 1968, C. regani has been reinstated as a valid taxon by Dr. Anton Lamboj. C. haugi, a form also synonymized by Thys (1968), is confirmed as a junior synonym of C. regani.

This fish is endemic to the northern part of the Ogooue River system and to northwestern parts of Gabon.

There is an awful photo in L&S that simply does not do this fish justice.

Thank you.

L&S in English

Dear Colin,

As far as I know, there are no plans to print Linke & Staeck's third edition in English. There are no plans to print Koslowski's excellent Apistogramma book in English either. Nor, for that matter, will Romer's upcoming atlas be published in English. It would seem that our German speaking brothers and sisters read a lot more than we do here in the US! Consequently, German language pubishers have lost interest in printing English language editions, faced with a losing proposition or break even scenario at best.

It took quite a bit of doing, but fortunately for us all, Birgit Schmettkamp Verlag has agreed to publish an English language edition of Anton Lamboj's upcoming book.

I strongly encourage everyone to buy this book! If we can show German language publishers that they can make a go of it in English, perhaps we will no longer be excluded from that which is new and noteworthy and be more competitive with our European counterparts.

Thank you.

All the best,

Randall Kohn
