Chromidotilapia guntheri spawning

I always assumed that my Chromidotilapia guntheri would spawn on a rock and the male would pick up the eggs, but in mu video it looks like they are spawning like mbuna, except the male is taking in the eggs.
Has anyone observed this before?

Mine spawn like clockwork, but I've never witnessed it. Now maybe I'll watch them a little more often when the female is gravid. Thanks for posting this!

What is the interval between spawns? My male didn't hold, but he's flirting with the female already!

They spawn about every 3 weeks or so after releasing. I seem to be slow removing the fry and when they get a couple weeks old they eat whatever is left with them and spawn again. The male released a few a little while ago; I'll have to be better about pulling the fry, or at least most of them.
