Can you id a baby?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why this little one is brown, and do we have any idea of sex yet? It's not the female cacatuoide on the left, it's in the middle in the first photo and zoomed in the second.

What other apistos have ever been in this tank? A better photo of the little one would possibly help.

Just cacatuoides, it's more whether we can sex it at this age. It is tiny! It's a quick little one so photos are challenging!

You can't, but it is quite likely to be male. Fry survivorship in the tank definitely tends to be male dominated.

Sex determination is temperature dependent in Apistogramma spp., so if your tank is cool (23 - 24oC) it is likely to be female and above 27oC, male
