Can someone tell me what Apisto this is?

I think it is Agassizii but I could be wrong. I brought back a bunch of them from Peru and this is the only spotted one.

Yes that is A. aggassizii. The black spots, however, are caused by a parasite... not genetic, and they will not go away. The spots will not be passed to the next generation. The parasite requires a phase in its lifecycle that passes through the gut of a bird.

you've made me curious. Do you have a reference for the parasite/bird story? I'd like to read up on this.
Do these parasites and/or birds also exist in other geographical regions?
