cacatuoides color question

The cacatuoide in the picture is a appx 7 month male. The bottom part of the tail has very little color. This fish was in a tank with 50 other apisto.

I am told the tail will get more color as the fish ages and also since it was with 50 other fish it might be subdominant and might not have full color. That once i move it to its own tank the color should come in.

While that sounds logical, is that true... does the color on the tail fill in gradually.... basically would the tail have a little more color eventually

Also is this a triple or a double red.

Thank you for the help.

i think it could go both ways. Maybe the color fills in maybe it wont. As far as tripple or double, id say its neither. It would be a double if the color was throughout its 2 fins. It may very well be that this fish had spotty genetics handed down and that this is its extent of color in its fins.

I really don't think that the color will fill in. Since he was with other males and now he is alone, his fins will gradually get longer, not more colorful, IMO.
