Thanks Lolojil, yob17 ^.^

This fish was "caught" by me among bags of new imports of
mixed apistos from Columbia. I was so amazed to find this pair inside
the same bag, together with hongsloi, iniridae, masmacteri, etc.
Even more amazing is that: After the fish were put into my tank,
they started to "dance"!! In a few days time, they already spawned
and there're tens of free swimming fry in the tank now ^.^

To: retro_gk - wow, your pair is very nice, too.

To: Mike: It doesn't appear to have the abdominal
bars like A. iniridae. It is simply colourless and patternless.
For Blutkehl/Cutthroat, do they have this kind of very extended
dorsal fins?

Yes, they are identical in most respects to Broadband. Other than presence of abdominal bars, they are the same. The red face markings are not diagnostic. these are seen on some populations of Broadband and even in rare specimens of A. iniridae.

I thought "cut throat" had a more slender body as it was closely related to pertensis/iniridae ?

Hmm... how about the form of the dorsal fin? Am i right that the
dorsal fin in Blutkehl/Cutthroat is similar to that in iniridae and uaupesi which
is flat and sail-like? (Broadband's dorsal fin
just looks like a comb with separate individual fins.)

Ken, BlueBlue, and everyone else ... I GOOFED UP MAJORLY!!! I wasn't thinking straight! You are correct, A. sp. Breitbinden/Broadband is very different from Cutthroat/Blutkehl. Breitbinden is more closely related to A. personata, while A. sp. Cutthroat/Blutkehl is more closely related to A. uaupesi - from 2 different species groups. I don't know what I was thinking about when I wrote. Senility must be creeping in. Mia Culpa, Es tut mir Leid, Sorry ....

Right, and probably this specimen has a very impressive
"blood-throat" which makes you think of Cutthroat/Blutkehl.
:)
