The Australian government will implement a testing system for iridovirus. The cost of this to importers will make the import of the least popular cichlids uneconomic.
Apistogrammas and most other dwarf South Americans will continue to be allowable imports, but will become scarce.
To help breeders contact each other we are setting up a Breeder's Register on Auscichlids.com
