At last !!

At last my Kribs have spawned and the fry are free swimming. I left some with the parents(15) and took the rest(50). I am feeding them microworms and infusoria. What else can I feed? Can I feed beef heart? Flakes? They have been freeswimming for 2 days.

Dear Angel,

Pelvicachromis pulcher have fairly large fry, as far as fry go. You might try feeding them baby brine shimp and/or golden pearls mixed in water and squirted directly into the school. Fry respond well to several small feedings per day.

Golden Pearls

Dear Angel,

Golden Pearls are an Artemia replacement food that are available in different granuale sizes--everything from powder fine to pellet. It's made from a variety of fishy/shrimpy things and are commonly used by commercial hatcheries, commercial breeders, public aquariums and the like.

I've puchased a few different sizes, as fry food, on Aquabid.com and have had tremendous success with it. Unlike baby brine shrimp, this food must be very nutritious because the growth rates I've experienced are incredible.
