Apsito cacatuoides female behaviour

Hi. My female http://www.aappeal.com/ts/25/001/female.jpg has been behaving really strange latel - few days ago she disappeared in the back of the tank, coming out only to snack on some frozen brine, she also appeared to be much thinner than before and changed color to bright yellow. But it has been a few days, I do not see any eggs or fry and male is not paying here any attention. Also today she finally came out of the cornern and did not go back.
What could this be?

If she is yellow and hides = she got eggs or more. In addition she tries to keep male far from her hidding place so she chases him occasionally.

What should I do?

The thing is, she spends all her time in the corner of the tank - there I have a lot of plants and there's a shallow end - so I can't really look in there unless I will go from above and move plants a little, but I am afraid this will distrurb the female.
A friend of mine adviced on putting some fry food in that corner - chances are that there's some fry there. Does it make sense?

It is very probably that your female layed eggs in the corner. Many times apistos lay eggs in the most covered position of the tank. The trick is to figure out about the day she layed and then start feeding that area lightly 7 days later. Unless she ate the eggs, or something else happened to them, it won't be long before she is guiding them around to other, more visable, areas of the tank. As mordor said she should be chasing other fish away from that area, possibly including the male, if she has eggs or fry.
I always try to place caves that look appealing to apisto pairs in a little better visual line so that you can keep an eye on things.
