Could someone give me some info on this fish, or point my in the right direction? I've Googled,I've Yahooed, but I can't seem to find anything in English.

Thanks

This link discusses A. sp. Schawrzkinn/Black-chin from Peru, not A. juruensis from Brazil. I am willing to bet that your this is the same species that you have. The true A. juruensis is not very common in the hobby.

Possibly. I was talking with a LFS store owner buddy of mine about the Cacs I asked you about earlier this week and the similarity with juruensis. Then he just shot out that he had picked up a pair of them from Oliver Lucanus a few months ago, and if I wanted them, I could have them. Said he keeps them in a 125 gallon with his discus.

Oliver does have some real juruensis from Rio Jurua, Brasil, and some traders in Taiwan have got this species from him.

Anyhow, one way for us to tell the difference is to observe the lips of the fish and other features... but the simplest method is to look at the price, real Brasil's juruensis is ten times more expensive than Peru's black-chin...

Are care and breeding the same for both species? If I know I can properly care for them, heck I'll take them and get some pics.

very similar except the brasil's one seems to be a bit more delicate and better water quality is needed.

The second link just gives me : Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
well, I thought I'll make it easier on you... but you'll have to click on the "search" button, above and a bit right... then: "advanced search" then type "juruensis" in the "Key word(s)" field... and wait a second or two... ;)
