Well, it's hard to say based on these photos. The color balance on these photos are so far off that colors are all off. It definitely isn't A. cf. alacrina (Rotpunkt). It is a member of the eunotus-complex, but not the eunotus-subcomplex. My guess is that they belong to the cruzi-subcomplex. Questions: do the fish ever show horizontal stripes below the lateral band; what color/tint (if any) is on the pectoral fins?

I cant work out whats going wrong with the photos they keep coming out with bad colour

Yes it does show horizontal stripes below the lateral band

And the pectoral fins are Light yellow

and it has blue spots on the cheek and Anal fins

And the males have light yellow Pelvic fins with bright Orange to yellow front edges

i will keep trying to get a better photo

I agree, the white balance is wrong; looks like you are using daylight setting with fluorescent lights. Based on your recent answers, I am fairly certain that you have A. sp. Nanay/Melgar.

I hate to say it, but the female has a very odd caudal spot for A. sp. Nanay/Melgar. It looks more like that on A. sp. Pebas. Your 2 fish might belong to 2 different species. This often appears in shipments of mixed cruzi-/Pebas-complex fish now sold as "A. sp. Algodon". Now I may be wrong. More photos of the pair (with white balance corrected on the camera) would help. You don't seem to be using the flash on the camera. If not, then change the white balance in the camera's menu to "Fluorescent light" (or something similar) when you take photos of the fish.

Mike, I think it's because the picture quality is poor you say the fish is A. sp. Nanay.
I'm pretty sure that is a form of A. cf. alacrina.

Julien.

I cannot agree, Julien. All members of the alacrina-group show a zipper-like lateral band. This fish shows a zigzag band. It is a regani-group species.
