Apistogramma from Costa Rica

I'm Roy from Costa Rica.
I have a couple of ramirezi and today add a couple of this one:

Do you know the spicies of this Apistogramma? Is it male or female?

Doing some research, it seems to be an Apistogramma borellii (female).
Is it correct?

Hi Roy and welcome, I'm not very good at I.D's, but I'm certain it's not borellii, it looks like it might be a female of A. Macmasteri or similar. Where did it come from?

Darrel, your fish looks like a female A. sp. Rotpunkt. I hope you bought it and didn't collect it in Costa Rica. The species is native to southern Colombia.

I dont think its borellii either. I dont think my females have the tail spots.

Sorry cant help with ID, looks nothing like anything I have ever had excpet perhaps Macmasteri a little.

Hi Mike, yes Rotpunkt is a better match, but no it's Roy's fish, and he is in Costa Rica. That was partially why I was interested in where he had obtained the fish from, and particularly if he collected it himself locally.
