Apistogramma "Blue Head"?

At the aquarium that i work at, we have recently recieved some apisto's that are just called Apistogramma "blue head". Just wondering if anyone knows the scientific name of these little guys.

I think what you are reffering to is the hybrid verison sold as sp steel blue.

blue head,bue face , steel blue etc ..... , i think it is the same "strange" Apisto, we all all think it is hybrid one

I have read that A.steel blue and blue head is a color form of apistogramma caetei, and its only males that are sold.

The apisto that you are refering to could be the much discussed "Steel blue", but might also be numerous other species. it is hard to tell because common names are thrown around pretty indiscriminantly in the hobby. There is a fish called A. sp. "Blue-head" from Rio Apeo listed in the Aqualog on pg. 28. I don't know much about this fish, except that it has shown up in the past and is different from the hybrid that is mentioned above.
