apistogramma bitaeniata

Hi,
I brought 2 Apistogrammas which were labels as wild Apistogramma Agassizii I paid £6 for the two but they clearly are not Agassizii and I'm pretty sure they are Bitaeniata I believe they were imported from Columbia, can anyone tell me what species they are exactly?

You are correct!!! Bitaeniata it is!!!
But I am not sure what specific location these may come from ..

I thought they were but I'm unsure of what variant they are... All I know is they were imported from Columbia.

Probably from around Leticia. That's where most of the commercially collected Amazonian apistos from Colombia are collected.

I was informed today they are caught from 'Rio tefe'

The Rio Tefé is in Brazil, not Colombia. I guess they could illegally ship to an exporter in Bogata, Colombia. Looking at your fish, however, they are not one of the Brazilian forms that show very few blue streaks on the face than the Peruvian/Colombian forms. Brazilian forms (like Rio Tefé) have faces that are mostly yellow and few other markings.
