Does anyone keep apistogramma bitaeniata, and have the standard, and the Tefe? Or does anyone know what the difference is?

A. bitaeniata is another of the superspecies, composed of many different genetically distinct forms (species). The type species is from the Rio Madeira, but Dr. Kullander established a lectotype from near Leticia, Colombia as a substitute since at the time (1980) bitaeniata forms were not known from the Madeira in Brazil. Right now there are 18 different forms/species in the superspecies. As for the differences, Brazilian forms tend to be more slender and have a yellow cheek with few or no blue markings. Peruvian forms tend to be slightly more robust bodywise and have blue markings on the cheeks.
