I have two apistos, hongoslies i think. (sorry, forgot the name)

Anyway, i have a male and a female. The female i noticed yesterday had what appeared to be ich on her. However, the spots have now turned into patchs and she is not swimming around as much. On top of that, she is breathing very heavy while she just lies on the bottom. I went ahead and did a 50% water change and added some aquarium salt. Should i be doing anything else?

Oh yeah, the tank is planted.

Thanks

Sean

i will use Waterlife's Myxazin to help... moreover, please
maintain the temperature stable and high (say at 30C)...

No nitrites, nitrates are 15 ppm and there is no amonia.

What is Waterlife's Myxazin? My mp is 80F

Thanks, ill keep that in mind. I think i lost her however, after the water change, i saw her for a short while, but not sense then. I think the male was just beating up on her. He was always fallowing her and always fanned out. However, now he moves about the tank much slower and with less authority.

If the female died, try to find her and take out of the tank to not pollute the water.

If you are not certain that the female had ich, better keep an eye out for symtoms of ich on the other fish. It is an ease disease to cure with medicine, if white spots should occur. There are several medicines that will do the trick. If you cannot see any spots keep temperature high for a while just in case (28-30 deg C)

If you are certain it was ich, my personal recommendation is to treat the entire tank with ich-medicine.

Regards / Chris
