Apisto Kelleri 'Diamond'

Hello there,

I am relatively new to apisto breeding.
I have successfully bred Apisto. Viejita and Cacatuoides 'double red' in the past year.

I picked up 3 of these little guys listed as Apisto Kelleri 'Diamond'.
1 Male and 2 Females put into my 60 gallon planted tank with some cardinal tetras.
They colored up immediately and are much more active than I orignally thought they would be.
Eating great so far, so hopefully spawing will commence soon!

If anyone has any tips on breeding these guys, I would love to hear them!

Hi cicrush13 + all..

In your pics..., to me it looks like you`ve got A. cf.ortegai (Pebas ?) or some other closely related species..

They are not very fussy about the pH, so pH 6-7 + relatively low kH should be OK.. (Any "normal" planted aquarium with "mature" water in process should do..)
Enough food for the female to produce eggs+a smaller change of water (10-30%) ought to start spawning if they are ready for it!!??..

Did you buy them from any Czech breeder??? (I have seen this kelleri/"diamond"-name in orderlists..!!)
