The Apistogramma Study Group is in hiatus right now. This is because of the small number of people (1!) who acquire, edit, publish, & mail the Apisto-gram has lost his job & had to start a new career. Hopefully it will start up later this year - if we can find some people to restart the organization. It would be a shame to lose this organization that has been around for over 25 years. Until then, there is alway Neil's site for current information.
For ASG members (& others who are interested), what do you think should be the emphasis of a hard copy "Apisto-gram"? What about the poorly maintained ASG web site?
I remember meeting many of the members in Chicago in 1990 at the ACA convention. We had a great time meeting each other but way back then they already had an Apistogram problem. Alan DeAngelo was trying to catch up & the issues were almost a year behind. We are all much older now and either out of the hobby or just barely keeping tanks going. No new blood has been introduced in many years. A few years back I saw Jeff Magnus again and rejoined but it was never up to date that I remember. Too bad as I got a lot of new and unusual Apistos through the group.
I'd be willing to help out Z, is it Jeff that we contact about it? He contacted me a 18 months or so ago, about publishing my Maulbruter article and some of my pics, but it never came to be. I guess now I know why.
I would love to become involved with the Apistogramma Study Group. We almost have one online here now as well. It wouldn't hurt to stay connected somehow. Even if the ASG got started through this website again. I think everyone is familar with this site if they keep dwarfs. Perhaps start the Apisto-gram through email format by joining through this site?
I am working on getting more pictures of all my Apistos at this point and could work on articles, designs, pictures, etc. to help out. Anybody else have any ideas?
