is it possible that the male cannot fertilize the eggs, if the hole in the upside down flower pot is to small, they have had babys once before but the male was much smaller it has been 3 or 4 times now that the eggs have turned white or have been eaten thanks

Apisto males usually don't have direct contact with the eggs when spawning. They release their sperm outside of the cave and fan it into the cave. I guess it is possible that the male has become infertile for some reason, but my guess is that something prevents the sperm from entering the cave (nearby current, misdirection, etc.). I suggest that you move the breeding cave to another, calmer location.

Ive actually seen dwarfs fertilise from outside and its a bit hit and miss.. Most of the time it does result in a successful spawning but if the distance between eggs and cave entrance is to great it may well effect fertility.

This is my favourite video ive ever taken.. I felt really lucky to have captured this action..

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
