Hi, i recently bought my first pair of juvenile apisto borellis and i notice that they seem to have some sort of underbite. can anybody tell me if this is normal?
No, A. borellii as the typical terminal mouth of most other apistos. Your fish are probably domestic forms with some kind of deformity. Such deformed mouths have been found on wild fish, too (e.g. A. uaupesi "Felsen/Rock") so it possibly could be caused by an environmental/nutritional problem. I wouldn't throw you borellii away until they breed & then see how the fry turn out.
