Hello I would say a fair price for the more common bitaeniata from peru would be around 20 to 30 a pair, and the less common ones found in other areas would be a little pricer..hope this helps
I bought them at a gcca swap meet a few months ago. They were labeled as apisto bitaeniata "purutu" (i just remembered this). The breeding pair are f1 apistos.
hmmm.. to be fair.... if you buy some really high quality bita imported from Brasil, the price can be much much higher... a pair of A. bita. from Rio Tefe is usually selling at a price of US$120-250 here in Hong Kong... the price is even higher in japan...

You picked them up from the gcca? I may have an idea of which one's you've got. I noticed they were floating around the GCCA and MAS. Great fish! . If they are the one's I'm thinking of, they were about $20 a pair.
How are they doing and have you gotten them to spawn yet? I am also a regular at those swaps and meetings... good to see you here! hopefully we can meet and talk fish at one of the events. john
Yeah they were 15 a pair, I was just wondering if that is an average price or if it is low.
They spawned soon after I got them and I have 4 that managed to evade my tetras and the biggest is about the size of a neon tetra. If I get them to spawn again I will try to raise the fry separately to get a higher survival rate.
I have only attended that one swap meet, but I'm planning to go to the November one.
