Ap. guacamayo

Hi all, I know there was a thread not so long ago but I can't find it anymore. The thread was about supplier names and what the fish actually were.
There's a shipment of A. guacamayo and A. fresa coming in and I wonder what sort of fish these are?
Any help would be great.

At last one I know - Apistogramma "fresa" is Apistogramma eremnopyge - but I prefer Fresa or Apistogramma "strawberry" - cause I can pronounce those words.....

Great fish - mine tend to be a bit shy.

Thanks, ginger. I saw diamante and fresa being sold as male and female eremnopyge, respectively, and was quite confused.

Also saw a picture of A.guacamayo in some supplier's website but it was really nondescript - yellow female with no markings.

This is just another trade name. Without photos, it is anyone's guess what it is. There is a Rio Guacamayo in Peru just west of the road between Nauta and Iquitos. Several apistos are collected in this region, including A. eremnopyge. Could you send the web link to the photo of the fish?

There´s a chance that the A. guacamayo is A. sp. "papagei".

I´ll explain myself:

There are 3 similar birds and the name of them (in spanish) are:
loro, papagayo, guacamayo

I know that the spanish word "papagayo" is "papagei" in german and "parrot" in english.

But, as guacamayo is almost the same bird to papagayo, I wonder if A. guacamayo is A. sp. "papagei".

The one listed as A. apache looks closer to A. papagei, hard to tell any from the photos though. Doesn't help that I really suck at IDing =)

The one listed as "Apache" is A.sp."Masken". Apache has always been the trade name for this species.

Based on this one photo (of what looks like a female), I can't ID the species. It is a regani-group species, probably eunotus-complex. Other than that I don't know. It doesn't look like A. sp. Papagei. The caudal spot doesn't join the last vertical bar, which is diagnostic for this species.

I agree with Mike, the fish in the photo is not A. sp. "papagei".
