hi there,

met someone yesterdag who has own caught Ap. Gossei (French-Gyana). he can sell me some, wild or tankbred, my choice.
anyone some experience?

I have never had this fish, but based on what other people have said they are hardy, moderately hard to breed, & not really super colorful.

Not particularly aggressive; similar to A. cf. eunotus (Orange-tail/Orangeschwanz)

Cageman, if your fish come from the german guys who came here two years ago, I think that your fishes were caught in the "crique Capiri" a river in the Oyapock river system.

I think the river the man gave me was the wrong one because after further investigation by me I found it in Brazil.
If yours came from the "crique Capiri" mine propably came too.
My gossei are looking exactly the same as yours
Absolutely beautiful fish in my opinion.

I got the wild quartet together with about 15 young ones.
Unfortunately one female passed away, right now I have two males one one female. She handles it just fine, constantly with young fish.

And off cource, beautifull pictures you shot there!

A. gossei & some very similar forms are found in both Brazil & French Guiana. Where were you told that your fish were from, cageman?

Coco river, as far as I heard the man right he said coco river, but it can't be because that lies at least 1000km south south east. His trip was to French-Guyana.

I will send him an email and if he is willing to answer I will reply it again.

I know a crique Kapiri in French Guyana (in fact in the Approuague river system) where you can find A gossei. (GPS : 4°08,298'N/52°05,266'W (WGS84))

You can find this species and others forms in the brazilian Amapa and in French Guyana in Oyapock, Approuague, Comté rivers systems (and the rivers near Cayenne witch are connected to tehe Comté river).

Mine are coming from the comté river system.

The crique Coco that I know in the repartiton aera of A. gossei is a river with brackish water
