Hi all.
I had a couple of Ap. cacatuoides. They delivered one time already.
Can you help me to know what kind of Cacatuoides of male: is this a super red or penta red?

Double red, triple red, super red, penta (why 5x) red... those are all just tradenames for almost identical domestic linebreeds. I have seen the exact same fish in the same store sold under different names (and slightly different prices.). Every breeder seems to either give them new names or sticks to the name he bought them under.

Hence they are a domestic "red" strain of A. cacatuoides. That's the best categorisation you will likely get. Just google Apistogramma cacatuoides and add "super red" and after that "penta red". You will get a lot of identical pictures in both searches.

Hi. Thanks your explainations.
I also try to find more information about kind of Ap. Cacatuoides red. Because in my country, The seller said that there are several type, like double, super or penta red and of course, their price also big difference, super is 3-4 times higher than double red.
Your explain help me to clear understand, and now I can talk like the fish with more color will be more expensive. ^^

You got me wrong.
Double = super = penta. All the same, different name. Different name = different price. It's just a marketing thing.
