Appears to be a Maulbruder(mouthbrooder) male. Not sure on the species there though. The orange/yellow at the base of the tail is exactly like my mouthbrooder.
it seems to be grown up, but then I would expect the first spines on his back to be more prolonged. the head is quite small for the mouthbrooder. I don't know what other similar species could it be, with the tail filaments.
The male fish looks like an A. sp. "Breitbinden" (A. sp. "Tail-spot") to me...
Its head does not look like A. sp. maulbruter.... are there any more photos?
Obviously, Mike is right:biggrin:
My first idea was A. steindachneri, too. He has definitely too small mouth and head to be called Mouthbrooder. Philippe Burnel shows here http://burnel.club.fr/Photos/Apistogramma_steindachneri.html A. steindachneri very similiar to your, brad.
