Another Mystery Apisto.

All right, another Apisto. to try and I.D.! I got these fish as juveniles about 8 months ago through a BAP spawn and I'm finally moving them to a breeding tank. The pictures where taken while the fish where in a specimen cup. I'll get some better images when they settle into their new home.

I should add that I got the fish under the name A. taeniata. I'm leaning toward A. cf. taeniata or A. sp. "Wangenflecken" based on the amount of color/patterning in the caudal.

They aren't the best photos for identification, Jeff, but I tend to agree with you. It looks like one of the deeper-bodied forms of A. taeniata, prossibly A5.

hey have settled in and even spawned about 10 days or so ago. I was able to take a few shots of a male sitting still at night...dark room, flashlight in one hand, camera in the other. And who says fish are addicting!

Still looks like one of the A. taeniata forms to me. I'd call it A. cf. taeniata since I don't know where it actually comes from.
