another macmasteri q

here's my macmasteri pair:

these fish were bought from the same tank, 6 months apart as a. viejita II. both are from the czech republic, not necessarily from the same breeder. i consider them to be a. macmasteri tank breds. would you consider them to be a suitable pair of fish for breeding, whose off spring can be sold as macmasteri? or is there some other things to consider. i don't want to sell hybrids, but i realise macmasteri is a bit mixed up already.

male was purchased last month, female in the summer, but she quickly killed her male cohort.

any thoughts welcome

They look like domestic A. macmasteri to me. Since this strain is nearly always a mix of 2 or more species these days, I see no reason not to sell them as A. macmasteri "domestic form". We don't hesitate to call a Red Swordtail/Helleri a Swordtail/Helleri although it has X. maculatus in its genes.

good deal mike, i was thinking that too. but i also didn't want to find out later i was raising fish that shouldn't be sold. your exp is appreciated.
